Corvettes on eBay: Burnt but Still Viable 1957 Corvette Fuelie

‘Tis better than to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

That old quotation pops to mind about this 1957 Corvette Fuelie currently being auctioned on eBay.

Just a few months ago, this was a completely restored Corvette, one of just 713 produced with fuel injection that year. It’s also one of just 664 four-speed 1957 Corvettes and has the correct numbers-matching engine.

Then disaster struck, with a dash fire leading to the damage you see in these photos.

Back when I was in high school, we had an FFA teacher (that’s Future Farmers of America for you city folks) who made the same lame joke every year during the annual awards ceremony when presenting his outstanding student. He’d always say something to the effect of “there aren’t any students out standing in my field!”

That joke immediately crossed my mind when I saw this “outstanding” Black Corvette Stingray which somehow ended up in a soybean field in Missouri.

A silver C5 Corvette was one of three vehicles involved in a Texas crash that injured four people Thursday night in San Angelo.

Officer Joshua Younts of the San Angelo Police Department reported that a teenage male was headed north on Bryant Boulevard and attempted to turn left onto Knickerbocker Road. In the process, he hit a Hyundai headed southbound on Bryant, with the impact causing the Corvette to then strike a Ford Escape making a right turn onto Bryant from Knickerbocker.

[ACCIDENT] Walk Around of a C7 Corvette Stingray Hit by a Drunk Driver

If there is any behavior behind the wheel of an automotive that is the scourge of our society, it’s the practice of driving while intoxicated. We’ve share more than few stories of Corvettes being hit by drunk drivers along with the damage caused by owners who were behind the wheel of their Corvettes when they shouldn’t have been.

The amount of lives and property damage that could be saved by simply handing the keys to someone else is staggering with some estimates of the costs of driving drunk ranging to more than 10,000 lives and $130+ billion each year.

So with that being said, we are sharing this video of a Corvette owner walking around and checking out the damage to his car after it was recently hit by a drunk driver.
