Recently deposed Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson may be down, but he isn’t out. While speculation continues to swirl around the future of both Top Gear and its three presenters – Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, it appears that something may be in the works based on tweet from Clarkson. Yesterday, Clarkson nearly set the internet on fire with a tweet showing a 2015 Corvette Z06 with a film crew in the background.
For the 13th time in the 99 years of Indianapolis 500 history, the Chevrolet will serve as the Pace Car for the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”. The news came today from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway along with the announcement that four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jeff Gordon would be serving as the Pace Car’s driver.
At the National Corvette Museum’s Bash, we learned that 8,206 Corvette Z06s have been produced so far in 2015. That count is as of April 22nd, so by now that number has probably grown in the few days it’s taken us to digest this information.
Regardless of the Corvette Z06′s 2.95 second 0-60 mph time or a 1.2g lateral grip, when you get down to it, the most important number is how many can GM sell. Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter called 2015 “The Year of the Z06″. Now we know why!
Members of Chevrolet’s Corvette Team were at the National Corvette Museum’s Bash last week to rollout information about the 2016 Corvette and we were there with camera’s rolling to bring the full experience of the What’s News Seminar to those who couldn’t attend.

My 16-year-old son Chris just got a GMC Sierra pickup as his first vehicle.
Boy, how he loves that truck, but we like to joke that it gets nearly 8 gallons to the mile. It’s not quite that bad, but when Chris pulls into a gas station, the attendants give us a standing ovation. I think we’re singlehandedly responsible for half of Racetrac’s profit margin last quarter.
