Unique Golden Anniversary 1958 Corvette to Cross the Block at Mecum Indy

Of the many Corvettes that will be offered at Dana Mecum’s Indianapolis sale next week, this 1958 Corvette stands in a class all its own.

Two things were going on back in 1958 when this Corvette was made. First the redesigned 1958 Corvette wore more chrome than any another Corvette that came before and secondly, it was Chevrolet’s 50th Anniversary.

To commemorate Chevrolet’s Golden Anniversary, a 1958 Corvette roadster was pulled from the production line and painted a special one-of-one “Anniversary Gold”. That Corvette would be designated as Chevrolet’s 39,000,000 vehicle produced.

2003 Corvette Le Mans Safety Car to Cross Russo and Steele's Monterey Auction Block

Here’s a 2003 Corvette with a very special history, and it could be yours Friday night during Russo and Steele’s 14th annual Monterey California Auction.

The Corvette, of course, celebrated its 50th birthday in 2003, and Chevrolet offered a distinctive 50th Anniversary package to anyone who wanted to buy it.

This car, though, went much further than a paint job, as it served as an official Safety Car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France that year.

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Ford Mustang

Just a quick note to say Happy 50th Anniversary to the Ford Mustang. If there is another automotive icon here in the States with a history like the Corvette, it’s the Ford Mustang.

A lot of Corvette people put down the Mustang, but you’ll never hear us utter a derogatory word about the car.

Ford’s Mustang made a great impact on my life on three different occasions and I can tell you for a fact that if there had been no Mustang, there would be no CorvetteBlogger.com.

Lance Miller to Sell Several Collectible Corvettes at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale Auction

Earlier this year, the first 2014 Corvette Stingray was auctioned off at the annual Barrett-Jackson auction.

Now comes word that three very special Corvettes from the very distant past – plus a rare collectible – will be on the block at Barrett-Jackson on Jan. 18, 2014 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The four Corvettes all come from the collection of Carlisle Events co-owner Lance Miller.
