Live streams from Le Mans enhance coverage of 24 Hours

LE MANS, France (June 18, 2013) – Do you want to get inside the action with Corvette Racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans? You can thanks to Chevrolet and SPEED for the 90th anniversary of the world’s greatest auto race.

Starting with the green flag at 9 a.m. ET/3 p.m. CET on Saturday, fans around the world can watch the race online through the eyes of Corvette Racing at SPEED.com. In-car cameras will run for the full length of the race in both the Compuware Corvette C6.R race cars that will compete in the GTE Pro class. Additionally, SPEED.com will stream a garage cam for the entire 24 hours.

Judge Allows Lawsuit over Ownership of the #1 Briggs Cunningham Corvette to Continue

It looks as if the parties in a lawsuit about the Briggs Cunningham Le Mans Corvette race car will be taking another lap around the track after a judge’s ruling this week.

The battle has already been going on for nine months after a 1960 Corvette commissioned by Briggs Cunningham for the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans race turned up during a promotion at last year’s Corvettes at Carlisle.

1967 Corvette Le Mans Racer Serves as Inspiration for Monterey Reunion Poster

A 1967 Corvette that has a special place in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has been chosen to be the poster art for this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion poster.

That car is the 1967 Corvette No. 9 raced by Corvette legends Dick Guldstrand and Bob Bondurant at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it hit speeds of 170mph-plus down Mulsanne Straight to take a big lead before mechanical woes forced it off the track. Despite that disappointment, the two drivers had already become folk heroes to the locals by driving the car from the airport near Paris to the track.
