LE MANS, France (June 9, 2014) – The biggest race on Corvette Racing’s calendar is here: the 24 Hours of Le Mans – one of racing’s marquee events. The twice-around-the-clock endurance classic will see the Le Mans competition debut of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R in its toughest test to date. The C7.R is the first completely new racing Corvette to compete at Le Mans since 2005 when the C6.R made its debut.

LE MANS, France (June 1, 2014) – Corvette Racing successfully ran through its test program ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans today as the two Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs turned their first laps around the circuit in the Sarthe region of France. Both Corvette C7.Rs ran virtually trouble-free during the pair of four-hour sessions two weeks before the famed endurance race June 14-15.

Annual Test Day serves as dress rehearsal for Corvette C7.R’s Le Mans debut

DETROIT (May 28, 2014) – The biggest challenge yet for the new Chevrolet Corvette C7.R beckons across the Atlantic. Sunday is the annual Test Day ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and eight hours of track time for the C7.R and Corvette Racing’s six drivers. It’s the only time cars can run on the 8.3-mile circuit ahead of official practice and qualifying for the world’s most grueling auto race June 14-15.

In the summer heat of Le Mans, France in June of 1960, Corvette took to its first steps onto the stage of world endurance racing at the 24 Heures du Mans. Three were entered by Briggs Cunningham’s racing team and the fourth by Lloyd “Lucky” Casner’s Camoradi USA team. One of the Cunnigham cars was involved in a dramatic finish that still stirs the souls of racing fans around the world.

SRT Viper Production Halted and Factory Racers Sidelined for the 24 Le Mans

While the Corvette Stingray continues to fly off the showroom floors almost faster than Bowling Green can produce them, the same can’t be said for its long-time competitor, the SRT Viper.

In fact, Chrysler just announced that it would suspend production of the Viper for at least two months, leaving 91 hourly workers laid off at the assembly plant in Detroit.
