It’s another six hours into the sunset at famed Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca when the American Le Mans Series returns for the American Le Mans Monterey, presented by Patrón May 11-12. This is a crucial race for the boys in Yellow as Chevrolet and BMW are tied in the Manufacturers standings and the #4 C6.R and the #3 C6.R are 2nd and 3rd in the drivers standings behind the #56 BMW. 2013 60th Anniversary Corvette ZR1 To Pace 96th Indianapolis 500

After weeks of anticipation, we learned this morning that the 2013 60th Anniversary Corvette ZR1 will be the official pace car of the 96th Indianapolis 500. This is the first time the Corvette ZR1 has earned the role as the pace setter and with its 638 horsepower, it’s the most powerful production car ever pace the Indy 500.

April 2012 Corvette Sales

Last week, General Motors released the April 2012 sales report and new deliveries of America’s favorite sports car came in at 1,396. This is down 4% from April 2011′s sales figure of 1,454 but was an increase over the 1,376 Corvettes sold last month (March 2012). This is now the 4th month in row for Corvette sales increases over the previous month and April’s sales number is the highest in a year. For the calendar year, 4,328 Corvettes have been sold and the number is pacing 0.8% ahead of 2011′s calendar year sales.
