First VIN Corvettes have always been a hot commodity among collectors, highlighted by the purchase of the 2009 VIN 001 Corvette ZR1 for $1 million by Dave Ressler. Unlike the first year ZR1, this 2010 Corvette ZR1 is meant to be driven as the first owner put 3,934 miles on the Jetstream Blue sports car.

This 2010 Cyber Gray Corvette ZR1 put its front end into some unknown immovable object, shearing the drivers rear chrome wheel off the axle and triggering the airbag. Hope the driver was okay. Now its sitting in a California salvage yard with an estimated repair bill of over $70,000. The good news for you fixer-uppers is that its offered for sale with a salvage title.

With a purchase of any new 2010 or 2011 Corvette (coupe, convertible, Grand Sport or Z06), you will receive the complimentary two-day ZR1 Driving School at either Bondurant’s School of High Performance Driving or the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain. Buyers of the ZR1 already get the two-day driving class so if you buy a new ZR1 during this incentive period, you’ll receive a complimentary third day. Hear the Rumble of the Corvette Z06x at Spring Mountain

In all the videos to come out of SEMA regarding the track ready Corvette Z06x concept, none captured the track ready car actually running. Pfadt Race Engineering’s Aaron Pfadt captured this video of the SEMA Corvette Z06x Concept when it was out at Spring Mountain for show and tell. Although the Corvette is just cruising the parking lot, you will hear the tell-tale exhaust note of a Corvette that’s ready to race.

Final 2010 Corvette Production Statistics

Production of the 2010 Corvette model has wrapped up and GM has released the final production statistics for the 2010 Corvette model year. The final count of Corvettes produced for MY 2010 is 12,194. That’s a decrease of 28.1% from 2009′s 16,956 production and a whopping 65.5% off the 35,310 Corvettes produced in 2008.

Chevy Awards Detroit Pitcher New Corvette Grand Sport for Great Performance

Detroit Pitcher Armando Galarraga’s quest for a perfect game on Wednesday against the Cleveland Indians came to an end after a botched call by the first base umpire ruled the 27th and final batter safe. Galarraga kept his cool and retired the next batter to record a one-hit, 3-0 shutout in the game. As a reward for Galarraga’s performance on and off the field, Chevrolet stepped up to the plate and delivered a new 2010 Corvette Grand Sport convertible to the hometown pitching hero.
