Corvette enthusiasts have known for years that the car can transport its owner to a magical world like no other.

Peter Haeckl became such a traveler many years ago even though he was thousands of miles away from the United States, living in his native Germany.

By chance, Haeckl saw an American officer’s Corvette shipped over from the States to his hometown of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps and was instantly mesmerized, stopping cold in his tracks.

1959 Corvette Stolen from the Netherland's Corvette Fame Meeting

Sometime during the night of July 8th, 2011, this 1959 Red Corvette was stolen from the garage of the Atlanta hotel in Valkenburg aan de Geul, Netherlands. The Corvette and its owner Piet Baggerman were there for the start of Holland’s 9th annual Corvette Fame show. The VIN of this Corvette is J59S104971. Word of the theft has been spread throughout the European Corvette community and we wanted to do our part to help out.

1959 Corvette Barn Car

Here is a fairly original 1959 Corvette that was stored away in a barn somewhere in Wisconsin since the mid-sixties. The Corvette was recently willed to a nephew following the death of the owner and the nephew’s friend shared these pictures on the Corvette Forum. Many times, we’ll see barn cars only after they’ve been pulled out of their cocoon so it’s great to see the new owner documenting the classic C1 straight-axle in its surroundings where its been stored for 40+ years.
