1957 Corvette Transformed from Basket Case to Bayou Cruiser

This beautiful 1957 red Corvette with white coves didn’t always look this great.

In fact, the master restorer who brought it back to life says it was “all busted up.”

As Mike McCabe of Busted Wrench Garage in Gulfport, Miss., put it, “It was a chopped up, drag racing car. It had holes in it and tires sticking out of the back.”

After taking the car apart and performing extensive “plastic surgery,” though, the classic Corvette is now a dream machine.

New Jersey Man Wins Saint Bernard's Classic Corvette Giveaway

Robert Drayton is a happy fellow these days.

After receiving a phone call earlier this month telling him that his ticket was chosen in the 26th Annual Classic Corvette Giveaway from Saint Bernard Parish and School, Drayton made the 800+ mile trek from New Jersey to Rockport, Indiana to pick up his prize – a fuel injected 1957 Corvette roadster.

Here’s your chance to support a great cause and maybe win a classic Corvette. This Sunday, a winner will be drawn in the 26th Annual Saint Bernard’s Classic Corvette Giveaway with the grand prize being a Red 1957 fuel injected Corvette. But you can’t win unless your name is on the ticket!

Corvettes on eBay: 1957 Chevrolet Engineering Fuelie Corvette for $6.5 Million

The headline is not a typo or a joke — a price for anything that includes seven digits is a serious matter and especially so for a car that hasn’t been started since 1967. Our friends at roadtrippers.com noticed this ad on eBay and understandably wondered if the ad and the car were legitimate. Certainly it’s not every day that you see a price that high on eBay, but it’s not even close to the highest eBay sale on record—that belongs to a Frank Mulders designed, 405-foot yacht that sold for $168,000,000 in 2006.

Saint Bernard Classic Corvette Giveaway is Offering a 1957 Corvette

It’s the beginning of a new year which means its time for the annual Saint Bernard Catholic Church’s classic Corvette raffle. This year the grand prize is a red 1957 Corvette roadster with a 283/283 fuel injected V8 engine.

This individual Corvette is making its second appearance in the annual Corvette giveaway after it was presented to Jeff Morrison in 2010. Jeff sold the red roadster back to the Parish and now you can have the opportunity to drive it home later this summer.

[STOLEN] 1957 Corvette Stolen in Gainesville, GA

This 1957 non-fuelie Corvette that has been owned by the same family for 57 years was stolen yesterday afternoon in Gainesville, GA (Northeast of Atlanta) and their owners want it back!

Adam Boca from the NCM Insurance Agency posted the Stolen Corvette alert on his facebook page and gave us the heads up on the car. The owner of the ’57 Corvette isn’t a customer of the NCM Insurance Agency but Adam tells us he hates to see these things happen to Corvette owners.

A rare 1957 Corvette featuring the 283/283 hp (RPO 579E) fuel injection sold for $290,000 at Mecum’s 2013 Dallas Auction.

This Onyx Black roadster is one of only 43 “airbox” Corvettes produced in 1957 which offered a new fuel injection system helping the 283 Cubic inch engine attain the mythical “one-horsepower-per-cubic-inch” threshold for the first time.

The ’57 Airbox Corvette was part of the Buddy Herin collection which also saw the record-breaking $3.2 million sale of the 1967 L88 Corvette Sting Ray at the same auction.
