New Corvette C6.Rs and New Driver Lineup to Highlight 60th Annual Sebring 12-Hour Race
SEBRING, Fla., March 9, 2012 – Following an intense preseason testing program, Corvette Racing will begin its quest for the American Le Mans Series GT championship in the season-opening 60th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on Saturday, March 17. Originally constructed as a training ground for B-17 bomber crews during World War II, the runways and service roads of Sebring Airport became a proving ground for legions of Corvette racers. Corvette Racing will continue this motorsports tradition with the competition debut of a new generation of Compuware Corvette C6.R race cars and a revised driver lineup at Sebring International Raceway in the most demanding endurance race on the ALMS calendar.

It’s looking better and better for the National Corvette Museum’s plans to build a motorsports park to be used for high-performance driving and testing.
The City-County Planning Commission voted 8-3 to allow the museum to rezone more than 400 acres of land near Porter Pike and McGinnis Road from Agriculture to Planned Unit Development, the Bowling Green Daily News reports.

It was a busy Friday morning for 31-year old Joseph Ciambriello according the police in Lindenhurst, New York.
The man was first accused of creeping around an elementary school in the early morning hours. When school officials confronted Ciambriello, he told them he was a member of the CIA and then he fled in his black C6 Corvette. The school got his license plate and called in the security threat to police, who caught up with Ciambriello a short time later.

Folks like Todd Largent, who was laid off 3½ years ago, and other workers with recall rights, are being summoned back to work just in time for the seventh generation of America’s sports car expected to arrive next year.

While pulling up to the Goldenrod, Florida post office on Monday, 72 year old Ruth Lawyer tried to brake but mistakenly hit the gas pedal which plunged her 1-month-old 2012 Velocity yellow Corvette coupe into the front of the facility.

Larry the Cable Guy’s Only in America TV show recently stopped in Bowling Green, Kentucky where he filmed a segment at the Corvette assembly plant. Larry proves that he wouldn’t be a good addition to the local labor force as we watch him touch a newly painted door and struggle with putting together a set of seat belts.
