First Indy race for program since 2014 with major GTD PRO title implications
DETROIT (Sept. 12, 2023) – Corvette Racing and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. They are two of the most iconic names in motorsports and finally come together after nearly a decade apart when the team returns this weekend with the rest of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
One of the vintage Corvettes that’s predicted in some circles to grow in value over the next few years is the C4 ZR-1.
Known affectionately as the “King of the Hill,” the ZR-1 was produced from 1990 to 1995, growing in horsepower from 375 to 405 during its reign that saw a total of 6,922 sold.

During the National Corvette Museum’s 29th Anniversary Celebration held last week, attendees were able to meet the new plant director Ray Theriault who offered his update on the Corvette Assembly Plant. Ray started off his conversation with the statistic of him being the BGAP’s 10th plant director since GM began operating the facility in 1981.

While those winning their classes are given a trophy and bottle of champaign to celebrate, the three drivers that win at Le Mans overall also receive a Rolex watch.
