Last night we watched as Chevrolet officially acknowledged the C8 Corvette for the first time with Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter and General Motors’ CEO Mary Barra driving the mid-engine sports car in New York City to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation for a gala fundraiser.

Here’s another look at the 2020 Corvette’s fun trip through Manhatten late Thursday afternoon as Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter drives General Motors CEO Mary Barra to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation gala.
It may have not been the worst-case secret of all time, but it was today. Chatter was high all day as word of a pending announcement regarding the 2020 C8 Corvette swept across the internet like a tsunami wave. The Corvette team knows that Corvette enthusiasts have been waiting to hear these words for a long time, so it’s bound to get out!

It was a tale of two races during the Super Sebring Weekend as Corvette’s Racing No. 3 squad featuring Jan Magnussen, Antonio Garcia and Mike Rockenfeller saw double duty in both the WEC’s 1,000 Miles of Sebring on Friday evening and then in IMSA’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on the following day.

So we’ve had this theory for a little while about a user on the Corvette Forum who goes by the name Corvette_Nut and his relationship with the Corvette production team. As the source of several spy photos and videos of the C8s on the streets from Detroit to California, it’s been our supposition that Corvette_Nut is on the team and has permission to selectively leak out favorable C8 content.

One of my few “beefs” with the Corvette production team has to do with the lack of releasing their Nurburgring times in the C7 Corvettes. I understand it’s proprietary info and that they choose what they want to reveal or not, and obviously they are only releasing times that they believe will show their cars in a positive light.
