Corvette Racing and the C7.Rs return to historic Sebring International Raceway where they will compete in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts. The Corvette Team is going for its fourth win in five years at the iconic former bomber base and its 12th win at Sebring in 21 years!

In addition to the 12 Hours of Sebring, a Corvette C7.R wearing the no. 63 will also be competing in the WEC 1,000 Miles of Sebring on Friday. We have some additional links for that contest at the bottom.

Our friend Charley Robertson of the Corvette Racing Fans page on Facebook has offered up an outstanding list of links to help all the Jake fans to keep up with the action.

Well, that sucks!

A 2020 Corvette was spotted by spy photographers with the frunk open at a Detroit area gas station today. We don’t have any ideas of what the problem is, but we do know the optics of watching another C8 Corvette getting a tow from the gas station will not be good.

Four General Motors models – including Corvette – are being recalled because of potential electric power steering failures.

Included in the recall are about 27,000 vehicles, including the 2017 Corvette, 2017 Chevrolet Camaro, 2017 Cadillac ATS, and 2016-18 Cadillac CTS.

GM is only reporting official sales numbers quarterly but we were able to get our hands on the Corvette sales report for February 2019 which showed just over 1,000 deliveries for the month. That’s a 24% decrease in deliveries from the 1,351 sold in February 2018.

[PICS] New Chazcron C8 Corvette Renders Will Wake You Up!

Corvette Racing’s Doug Fehan has famously talked about “Cascade Engineering” in which each generation takes what it has learned from racing and applies it to improve the next generation street car which improves the next generation’s race car, and so forth and so on.

The phrase of “Cascade Rendering” came to me tonight after seeing these new renders of the C8 Corvette from Chazcron and the Mid-Engine Corvette Forum.

[SPIED] New Detroit Spy Photos of the C8 Corvette Reveal New Details

Another batch of spy photos dropped yesterday and while we had to pass on buying them (we can’t buy them all!), we still wanted to make sure you know where you can see them and what the photos showed.

This particular C8 mid-engine Corvette prototype was captured most likely around GM’s Milford Proving Grounds. As we’ve previously discussed, the Detroit testing fleet runs without the heavy black cladding that we saw on the prototypes in San Diego and Yuma and therefore we are able to get a less-obstructed view of the details.

Take a moment and run over to our friends at Motor1.com to see the entire set of photos from Brian Williams.

Two brothers suffered serious injuries after their maroon 2001 Corvette coupe went airborne and struck several trees in a small Virginia community on Saturday.

The one-vehicle crash happened on River Road, just west of State Route 961 in the Paces community in Halifax County.

A witness said the Corvette soared into the air before landing in trees on the right side of the road. Virginia State Trooper D.N. Clark blamed the accident on speed, calling it “a really, really big factor.”

Clark said the Corvette crossed a double solid line before overcorrecting and running off the road.

The crash ended with the two brothers trapped in the Corvette, and they had to be extricated by rescue workers before being carried to a pair of Duke helicopters that had landed at a nearby ball field.

Despite wearing their seatbelts, the two brothers were both seriously injured. Authorities said the passenger, 18-year-old William E. Perdue, suffered more serious injuries than his brother who was driving, Jason F. Perdue, 23.

Charges are pending, the trooper said.

The crash basically totaled the Corvette, which suffered extensive damage, losing all body panels off the front end. Clark estimated the damage at $20,000, but a quick search on Auto Trader showed similar cars selling for anywhere from $8,995 to $22,000 (for a 9,000-mile car).
