Got a couple fun photos today to share as a couple more “stray mules” have been spied on the streets from the last 24 hours or so. These two C8 mid-engine Corvette prototypes were either driving off by themselves or were photographed by themselves while testing.

As the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette racks up validation miles on public streets, more and more car enthusiasts are blown away after seeing it for themselves. And that’s despite the fact that the car is still wrapped up with the camouflage doing its job of defusing the car’s final looks until the reveal on 07.18.19.

If you saw the videos or photos from the NCM Bash last month, you saw the Corvette Team was wearing shirts with the same design as the camouflage on the C8 Mid-Engine Corvettes. Thanks to this video from the National Corvette Museum, we hear the back story from Harlan Charles on the shirt design and as well as Kirk Bennion talking about the camo on the prototypes.
The shirts were a huge hit in more ways than expected. Not only did the Corvette Team make a fashion statement that let everyone know that the C8 Mid-Engine Corvette was right around the corner, but two of the shirts were auctioned off for charity with each one bringing a whopping $3,100 each with a total of $6,200 that was donated to the NCM.
There’s been some talk that a run of these will be made available. We haven’t heard anything concrete yet but if we do we’ll let you know!

We’re of the opinion that the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport has aged more gracefully than any other C4 model.
With its Admiral Blue paint accented with a white central stripe and twin red hashmarks on the left front fender, the Grand Sport definitely stands out in a crowd, even all these years later.

Back in March when the C8’s RPOs were leaked via a Canadian Chevy dealership, we learned that there were going to be at least six different wheel options available. The leaked order screen shows four factory wheels and two LPO (dealer installed) accessory wheels.
Up until this point, we believe that four of the wheel options have been accounted for: the Carbon Flash 5-spoke wheel, the Machined Face w/Sterling Silver 5-spoke Wheel, the Black Trident Spoke Wheel and the Spectra Gray Trident Spoke wheels that enthusiasts have nicknamed the “Micky D” wheels after their first sighting at a McDonalds in Michigan.
