Over the last two decades, the Corvette team has made multiple trips to test their new sports cars on one of the most extreme tracks in the world – Germany’s Nurburgring. The 2020 Corvette Stingray Z51 has already made several trips to the famous 12.9 mile Nordschleife and we know from reports at the track that a fast lap time was recorded.

Out of all seven decades of Corvette production, the winner of our Best Corvette of the 1990s was by far the easiest one to select. It could be argued that the best Corvette of the ’90s is the most significant ‘Vette in history. It was the car that brought pride and relevance back to the American performance category and, even today, its engine remains one of the most advanced mills to ever turn the rear tires of the sports car that we are all obsessed with. We are, of course, referring to the “King of the Hill,” “The Corvette from Hell,” the C4 ZR-1, our ultimate ‘Vette of the 1990s.

More good news for those of you holding a pre-order on the 2020 Corvette Stingray. Our friends at Kerbeck Corvette tell us that there are no constraints this week on ordering the 2020 Corvette, other than you cannot yet order the Convertible model.

Genovation’s team has been chasing 220 mph and that target got a little closer after the car recently broke the top speed record for electric cars again.

MotorTrend has a new feature out this week that compares the Ford Mustang GT500 to the 2020 Corvette Stingray Z51 on the Full Course configuration at Virginia International Raceway. The Chevy fanboys (I have a founding membership) will tell you right away that it’s a comparison between the highest horsepower Mustang to the base engine in Z51 trim, a difference of 265 hp. But regardless, the Corvette Z51 goes down fighting as you will see.
