Quarantine Project: Build a Model Car


As a kid, I built countless model cars. I remember starting with the small snap together kits, then moving on to bigger glue-together kits as I got older, and finally on to a 1/12th scale 1967 427/435 Corvette coupe which I still have (somewhere) today. Once completed, I’d display them proudly around my room. Instead of reading material, my bookshelf was loaded with small plastic cars. That glorious smell of glue mixed with Testors spray paint will always make me smile.

We’ve all want to get the Corvette assembly line moving again but as it has been stated, you don’t just flip the switch and start where you left off. The good news is that everything looks to be firming up for the Corvette factory to restart shortly and we now have the date.

We got a few pics in this evening from national Corvette seller Mike Furman of Criswell Chevrolet. Mike says this is the dealership’s last brand new C7 Corvette in stock – a 2019 Corvette Grand Sport in Arctic White. When this car leaves the dealership, it will close the chapter on the C7 Corvette generation.

Due to social distancing guidelines set up by the state of Kentucky, the National Corvette Museum announced today that the annual NCM Bash will be presented May 28-29th as a virtual-only event. Registrants will have access to a number of seminars and presentations as well as access to other events presented online.
