The story behind the name of the Corvette comes from Chevy PR man Myron Scott who was part of the naming committee. Myron was reading the dictionary looking for a word beginning with “C”. Coming across Corvette, a type of warship that provided escort duty, Myron liked the sound of it and thought it would tie in well those who served in World War II, a target demographic for the car. The name stuck and it would spawn a number of nautical-named concepts and models like the Mako Shark, Manta Ray, and the Stingray.

The Rapid Blue HTC was among the first to arrive at dealers and we know the new owners have to be ecstatic to be able to take it home. Mike shares a few more C8 deliveries from the week and then he offers up a great collection of vintage and throwback photos.
