Congratulations to our friend Adam Ellison who took delivery of a 2021 Corvette wearing the new Silver Flare exterior. Adam is a James Bond fan so it was no surprise to us that his Corvette wears the customer-ordered VIN of #007.

Chevrolet Drops the Accessory Illuminated Sill Plates for the 2021 Corvette
If you want to light the door sills on your 2021 Corvette, you’ll have to resort to the aftermarket.
The Corvette Action Center reports that Chevrolet has told dealers that the Accessory Illuminated Sill Plates (RPO VST) won’t be available during the 2021 model year and must be removed from all customer orders because of a supply problem.
The Sill Plates thus join the high-wing spoiler and car cover as C8 accessories no longer available, though after months of waiting, we were finally able to buy an official GM high-wing spoiler through a private company last week so there is hope.
Some outlets on the Web surmise the Sill Plates could return as an option in 2022, perhaps once the manufacturer gets past what are assumed to be COVID-related production problems.
In the meantime, if you’d like to protect your current Sill Plates from the inevitable scuff marks caused by your shoes, we’ve been well pleased with the clear plastic Sill Covers we purchased last week. They definitely look better than the old towels we had been using to protect the sills since buying the car in July!

[PODCAST] Learn About the National Corvette Restorers Society on the Corvette Today Podcast

As an NCRS member since the early 2000s, we highly encourage owners of older Corvette to consider becoming a member of the NCRS to not only support the organization, but to also participate in the various state, regional, and national events. You can learn more about them at NCRS.org.

No Remedy Yet for the 2020 Corvettes Recalled for Loss of Brake Assist
Back in September we learned that there was Stop Sale Order on certain 2020 Corvettes and other GM vehicles regarding contamination in the electronic brake boost system sensor which could cause a communication breakdown between the sensor and brake boost system. At the time, it was believed that the contamination issue affected less than 40 cars, although a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report states the number of affected cars is 679.
