[VIDEO] Bad News for Emelia Hartford and Her Twin-Turbo C8 Corvette Named Phoenix

The last video with Emelia Hartford had her breaking her own world record times in the C8 Corvette not once but twice during a two-day private test at Famoso Raceway outside of Bakersfield, California. With the previous record standing at 9.41 seconds and despite the fact that the temps were over 100 degrees, Emelia was able to beat her record with quarter-mile runs of 9.36 and a 9.39.

It’s now Day Two of that test and Emelia and her team are up early to take advantage of the cooler morning temps. Unfortunately, Phoenix was having some issues…

Corvette Racing will soon complete the construction of a new Corvette C8.R racer that will be used first at the IMSA race at Road America in early August before being flown to France where it will serve as the team’s backup car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Chevrolet Corvette Drops to 2nd Place on Fastest-Selling New Cars for May

The Chevrolet Corvette’s streak as being the fastest-selling new car for four straight months was broken in May with America’s Favorite Sports Car coming in at a close second to the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The Corvette averaged 9.5 days to sell, up .3 from April while the Mercedes-Benz G-class makes its debut on the list at number 1 with 9.4 days on average to sell.

Ready to watch the rebuild of a C8 Corvette in record time by a driveway mechanic?

I came across this amazing time-lapse video showing a C8 Corvette Convertible that had significant damage along the passenger side being repaired in the garage of a young man who appeared to have no qualms in tackling this rebuild by himself. And unlike that Rapid Blue Coupe with the smashed-up front end featured earlier today, this car was able to roll straight off the trailer without difficulty so it was at a much better starting point.

Corvette Ordering Now Officially Open in Australia/New Zealand

Ordering for the new mid-engine Corvette – with right-hand drive straight from the Bowling Green factory – is finally open for our friends to the south in Australia and New Zealand, General Motors Specialty Vehicles announced last week.

Helping ease the pain of that long wait for the C8 Corvette will be a special Carbon Edition exclusive to Australia and New Zealand, “a limited production run to celebrate our local launch of Corvette, which is sure to become a collector’s dream,” GMSV said in an official announcement.
