2011 Le Mans Anniversary Corvette Z06 to be Auctioned at Barrett-Jackson

At the Corvette Museum’s 2010 C5/C6 Bash, GM unveiled a special 2011 Corvette Z06 that was a tribute to Corvette’s 50th Anniversary of racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Painted white with blue racing stripes, the Z06 Corvette matches the livery of the 1960 Briggs Cunningham Corvette that won its class and finished 8th overall. The NCM announced today that the 2011 Le Mans Anniversary Corvette Z06 will be auctioned next week at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction and the proceeds will go to the NCM’s planned 500-acre motorsports park.

New Corvette Buyers Get Free 2 Day Driving School

A very cool new incentive to help boost Corvette sales was being by touted by several dealers over the weekend. With a purchase of any new 2010 or 2011 Corvette (coupe, convertible, Grand Sport or Z06), you will receive the complimentary two-day ZR1 Driving School at either Bondurant’s School of High Performance Driving or the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain. Buyers of the ZR1 already get the two-day driving class so if you buy a new ZR1 during this incentive period, you’ll receive a complimentary third day. You must purchase a new Corvette between Jan 4 – February 28, 2011. More details of this great incentive are after the jump.

[VIDEO] C4 Corvette Goes Flying in New Mountain Dew Commercial

A new commercial for Mountain Dew shot by Mouse McCoy and his Bandito Brothers production company features a C4 Corvette being “pipe-ramped” into a bullfighting ring. In the new spot, an obnoxious dude drives up to the arena and tosses his keys to a young man he assumes is a valet. Of course, the kid is not a valet and so he takes the Corvette on a joyride with culminates in a spectacular jump into the bullfighting arena. Trust me, its awesome!

We thought we’d build on that preview and include all of the Corvettes crossing the auction block this month. RM’s event is just one of 8 significant collector car auctions taking place in the annual January sales frenzy. Over 300 Corvettes will cross the block in search of new homes.
