Corvette Racing at Le Mans: Tandy Puts No. 64 C8.R in Hyperpole

LE MANS, France (Aug. 18, 2021) – Corvette Racing’s Nick Tandy put the No. 64 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C8.R into the Hyperpole round of qualifying for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Tandy set a best lap Wednesday of 3:47.074 (134.216 mph) in the mid-engine Corvette that he is sharing this week with Tommy Milner and Alexander Sims.

“The World’s Largest Corvette Dealer” will again be participating in Corvettes at Carlisle August 26-28, but it’ll be going by a new name.

Kerbeck Chevrolet in Atlantic City has earned that title for the past 27 years, but the dealership is now known as Ciocca Corvette after the Kerbeck brothers sold out earlier this year to Ciocca, the owner of multiple dealerships in the mid-Atlantic region.

A 1963 Corvette Sting Ray split window coupe – owned since 2011 by the late Rush drummer, Neil Peart – sold for more than double the estimated price during last weekend’s auction of a group of his vintage cars known collectively as the “Silver Surfer” Collection.

General Motors hopes to make an announcement next month on the future of its sports cars – Corvette and Cadillac – as far as the ACO and its World Endurance Championship program.

That’s the latest word from Laura Klauser, the company’s sports car racing program manager.

With all the spy pics and videos coming out of Germany as the 2023 Corvette Z06s are testing at the Nurburgring, it was our thinking that the question on whether or not the Z06s would have a center-mounted exhaust was settled as both the base Z06 and the Z06/Z07 models have the configuration in place.

LE MANS, France (Aug. 17, 2021) – Corvette Racing is back at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this week with its eye toward a ninth class victory in one of the world’s greatest endurance races. Debuting at Le Mans in 2000, the program quickly established itself as an annual contender in the production-based GT categories. This year should be no different with the mid-engine Corvette C8.R.

With the news that the 2023 Corvette Z06s are testing in Germany at the Nurburgring, we are finding more pics of the cars from the spy photographers who are staking out the track and entrances to the Manufacturers garages. Already we’ve shared the 2023 Z06 with the Z07 Performance Package and earlier today, the first nearly-undisguised photos of the base model Z06 was spotted for the first time.
