Patent Application Details Adaptive Aerodynamics Plans for C7 Corvette

It’s been my belief that if the Corvette team is working on adaptive aerodynamics or active aero, that it’s most likely a feature destined for the mid-engine Corvette which is expected sometime in 2019. But these new engineering drawings from a GM patent application in May 2016 suggest that we may be seeing Adaptive Aerodynamics on the C7 2018 Corvette ZR1.

Michelin's GTLM Sebring Recap

The best racing in North America can be found in the GTLM class in IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series. Last week, five manufacturers (Chevrolet, Ford, Porsche, Ferrari and BMW) slugged it out for 12 hours on the brutal concrete track that once upon a time served as an air base for B-17 Flying Fortresses during WWII.

Against all odds, Corvette Racing never gave up and the No.3 Corvette C7.R won the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in dramatic fashion for the 3rd consecutive year.

In 2015 Chevy offered the Atlantic Design Package for the Corvette, a “check-the-box” feature which set up the Stingray as a luxurious gran touring convertible. Due to a number of factors, the car never got a real chance and the order date came and went with little notice from customers who were going crazy over the just launched 2015 Corvette Z06.

[VIDEO] Corvette Racing at Sebring: Doug Fehan's Pre-Race Q&A Session

Corvette Racing’s Doug Fehan gave his annual pre-race talk at the Corvette Corral last Friday on the eve of the 65th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. It’s always interesting watching these talks after the actual race has taken place because you just don’t know what can happen during a 12 hour race. That is especially the case at Sebring, which can be quite unforgiving with changing weather conditions, a bumpy track and the fact that the competitors race in the dark.
