Stunning 1963 Corvette Split Window Restomod From Jeff Hayes Customs Headed to Barrett-Jackson


When it comes to building second-generation Corvette restomods, they don’t come much better than the cars from Jeff Hayes Customs out of Bloomington, Indiana.

Hayes just completed this overwhelmingly nice red 1963 Corvette split window in March, and now it’s up for sale at no reserve at the inaugural Barrett-Jackson Houston Auction set for Sept. 16-18.

If you were to compare the new 2022 Corvette’s official EPA fuel economy ratings to those issued back in 2020, you would see an increase of 1 MPG in the city, but a drop of 3 MPG on the highway. That drop in the highway rating wasn’t because there were any significant changes to the LT2 powertrain, it’s because a majority of buyers are selecting the Z51 Performance Package.

Now that we have returned to Florida after back-to-back Corvette shows at Carlisle and the Corvette Museum, we wanted to take a closer look at this unique C8 Corvette prototype.
