Hats off to the Gas Monkey Garage’s Richard Rawlings for the barn find of the year. After putting a call out that he’s buying Corvettes, Rawlings received an email about a rough ’63 Split Window barn find that was offered to him along with two other mid-years, a 1966 and a 1967 Corvette that were also in equally rough condition. After purchasing all three Corvettes for $15,000, he gives a call to his friend Dennis Collins letting him know that the “splitty” is for sale.

Update
We received an update on these production numbers presented below so I wanted to put them here at the top. On Wednesday, production numbers reported for Monday and Tuesday were 261 and 260 for a total 521. That total is correct, but the counts are distributed over three days which included a 4-hour Saturday shift. The updated count we have now is 47 cars built on Saturday, 232 cars for Monday, and 242 Corvettes completed on Tuesday. Here is our original story:

Last week we learned that the Corvette Assembly Plant would be working 10-hour shifts for the near future, and we were expecting to see production happen over the weekend with a Saturday workday planned as confirmed by a GM rep at the plant. While we don’t see any numbers for a Saturday shift on Roger Kiel’s excellent “Unofficial Production Estimates” report, today we got the update for Monday and Tuesday’s production counts, and they are simply bonkers!

As January comes to an end, we have another pricing report of C8 Corvette Z06 sales from Barrett-Jackson’s 2024 Scottsdale auction. A total of seven Corvette Z06s were offered during the sale and all were sold at No Reserve. One of the cars featured was a charity sale for the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation while the other six were sold by their owners and subject to Barrett-Jackson’s buyer/seller commissions.

Corvettes For Sale: It Was an Exceptional Weekend for C6 Corvette Listings

While everyone was watching the Rolex 24 at Daytona and NFL Conference Championships over the weekend, the nation’s car dealers were busy amassing and posting the best coast-to-coast inventory of C6 Corvettes that we’ve seen for sale at the same time since 2014, at least. If you’ve been searching for a hard-to-find version of what many consider to be the best generation of America’s Favorite Sports Car, get your bank on the phone because they’re all up for grabs right now!

We said it before that no other aftermarket option in our opinion protects Corvettes more than C8 Rock Guards from ACS Composite. The C8 Rock Guards for the Stingray are an enhanced design over GM’s mud flaps, and they offer more than double the protection over the OEM versions with their unique design features.

We’ve heard of C8 owners removing the factory emblems from their cars, ostensibly to make average folks think they’re really driving a much more expensive Ferrari.

But we’ve never seen someone take a chrome-bumper Corvette and deface it with a Porsche tag on the front.

Legendary Corvette restomod builder Jeff Hayes keeps breaking records with his creations and his latest build featuring a 1967 Corvette Convertible had people buzzing after it hammered sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on Saturday for $1 million, a new record price for a custom ’67 Corvette! When it was all said-and-done with the auction house commission added, the out-the-door price would be an amazing $1.1 million.
