A little over a week ago we featured the sale of this 1967 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible Restomod at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale 2024 auction. Built by renowned restomod builder Jeff Hayes, the Corvette would hammer sold for $1 million, and with the buyer’s commission, the total selling price was $1.1 million. Following the sale, the announcers said it was a record auction price for a custom 1967 Corvette.

Jeff Hayes was on the stage during the sale, and he’s asked if in his wildest dreams did he see THIS happening at Barrett-Jackson, and he simply said, “Amazing!”

When Chevrolet first revealed the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, they used the tagline “One Like None” to make the point about the performance hybrid’s unique front motor that offers All-Wheel Drive on the Corvette for the first time ever. To help prepare dealers to sell and service the new Corvette model, Chevrolet will be hosting a round of training sessions at the National Corvette Museum’s NCM Motorsports Park starting in March and running into April.

It’s the question that been asked ever since Chevrolet first introduced the C8 Corvette Z06 with its 670-hp naturally aspirated V8 engine back in October 2021: Would it be faster than the supercharged 650-hp C7 Corvette Z06 it was replacing?

On paper, racing these two Z06s against each other from a dig should benefit the C8 Z06 with its 60/40 rear weight bias over the rear axle. But what about a roll race where C7 Z06’s Achilles Heel – the launch – is negated? We’re about to find out!
