[VIDEO] C4 Corvette Goes Flying in New Mountain Dew Commercial

A new commercial for Mountain Dew shot by Mouse McCoy and his Bandito Brothers production company features a C4 Corvette being “pipe-ramped” into a bullfighting ring. In the new spot, an obnoxious dude drives up to the arena and tosses his keys to a young man he assumes is a valet. Of course, the kid is not a valet and so he takes the Corvette on a joyride with culminates in a spectacular jump into the bullfighting arena. Trust me, its awesome!

A couple weeks back we previewed the Corvettes being offered at RM’s Arizona sale later this month: Part 1 and Part 2. This yellow 1973 Corvette crashed into the Quality Inn and Suites on Marketview Drive in Champaign, Illinois late Tuesday morning. Police say the 17-year old driver hit a curb, overcorrected his steering and crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic before whacking the side of the hotel. Although the hotel was structurally sound following the accident, the same can’t be said for the C3 Corvette. The driver was issued a ticket for improper lane usage.

[POLL] Will You Be Able to Watch the ALMS races on ESPN3.com?

Earlier this week, the American Le Mans Series announced a multi-year television package with ABC/ESPN. For 2011, ABC is expected to air coverage of the races at Sebring, Road America, Baltimore and Petit Le Mans. These races will also be re-aired on ESPN2. ESPN2 will feature 2-hour telecasts of races at Long Beach, Lime Rock, Mosport, Mid Ohio and Monterey. All the races will stream live in their entirety on ESPN3.com but there lies the rub: ESPN3.com is only available if you get your television/internet through one of their approved carriers.

Lou Gigliotti's GT2 Corvette Goes On Display at the Corvette Museum

The first Corvette to compete in the highly competitive American Le Mans GT2 class was honored in December with a display spot at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Lou Gigliotti and his Black and Flames Corvette was a mainstay of the 2008/2009 ALMS seasons before the two factory Corvette C6.Rs shifted their focus from GT1 to GT2. Although outgunned financially by the factory race team, Lou put up a great fight as a privateer and in his final GT2 race at Petit Le Mans, his LG Motorsports #28 Corvette qualified second in class and faster than Corvette Racing’s C6.Rs.

Corvettes on eBay: 1996 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible

One of our favorite models of the C4 era is the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport. Just 1,000 Grand Sports were built and only 190 were convertibles. Combine the historical connotations of the 1963 Grand Sports with the 1996′s Admiral Blue and White exterior, unique VIN and a one-year-only optional V8 engine and you’ve got something that is a collector’s dream.
