Back in the day, knowing a car’s invoice price was pretty helpful information when it came time to squeeze the best deal out of your dealer.

It still is for some cars, but not necessarily for the ultra-hot (but finally cooling) C8 Corvettes. Five years into their run, these mid-engine cars are still being sold at MSRP and higher in most cases – and sometimes way higher in the cases of the Z06 and E-Ray.

Corvettes for Sale: Another Look at this 1953 Commemorative Edition Corvette by AAT

Turning 50 is a big deal, whether you’re a person or a car.

Just ask the folks at GM about the 50th birthday of the Corvette back in 2003.

To mark the occasion, the company first had GM designer Steve Pasteiner combine the look of the original 1953 Corvette and update it to fit on a C5 chassis with all the high-tech advancements of the past half-century. GM commissioned Magna Steyr to build a prototype that might end up being offered to customers as “THE” 50th Anniversary Edition Corvette. While we like the current set of factory OEM wheels you can order with your Stingray, the rather plain designs and colors have always had us wanting more. That’s where our friends at Miami-based E5 Wheels comes in.

The principals behind E5 Wheels have over 40 years in the wheels business as the original founders of American Force Wheels among other brands. E5 is bringing that expertise to the Corvette world with fresh new wheels specifically designed for America’s Favorite Sports Car. With their sophisticated designs and exceptional quality, E5 Wheels are the ideal choice for Corvette enthusiasts who only want the best for their rides.

Fresh off the success of launching two new wheels designs last year, the Daytona and Sebring, the company is kicking off 2024 with a new design called the Speedway. CorvetteBlogger readers can save 7% off your purchase of E5 wheels during checkout with the Promo Code: CB!

It’s been a little while since the heroes on the Corvette Team have had the C8 Corvette ZR1s out in public. Our last sight of them was at the Nurburgring in October last year where they shed their heavy black camo and raced around the German track in just GM’s vinyl camouflage. But now they are back and have been spied driving at least four new King of the Hills in Southern California.

The democratization of speed has been the Chevrolet Corvette’s primary function since its inception, and in years starting with a “2,” that’s never been more true. With General Motors’ engineering might and economics of scale behind it, America’s Favorite Sports Car is a consistent bet to be the first mass-market vehicle to hit specific speed benchmarks or offer a given technology.
