Corvette Auction Preview: Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2015

Another Barrett-Jackson auction is upon us as Craig, Steve and the crew of auctioneers are in Las Vegas for their 8th annual salen in Sin City at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The hammer will start falling tomorrow and the auction runs through Saturday.

Once again we turn to Marshall Fancher and the Corvette auction experts at VetteNVestments for a preview of Corvettes available this weekend:

We Corvette enthusiasts often refer to our cars as our “children.” Just as with our real children, though, sometimes we have to let our Corvettes go so they can soar on their own.

That’s never been truer than in the case of a Texas couple who recently donated their 1978 25th Silver Anniversary Corvette and their 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette to the National Corvette Museum.

We’ve wondered if Chevrolet would ever add an electric motor to a Corvette to increase horsepower.

Well, someone already beat them to the punch. At the Battery Show 2015 in Novi, Mich., the Genovation GXE all-electric vehicle based on a C6 Corvette Z06 made its public debut.

This is no Volt, either.

We could know by Halloween whether Chevrolet will be competing in the GTE-Pro class of the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2016.

Wayne Taylor is negotiating with Larbre Competition’s Jack Leconte about a joint effort, with the two men meeting last weekend at Circuit of The Americas to discuss the matter.

[PICS] Forgiato's 800-HP Widebody Corvette Z06 with Custom Red Wheels

We’ve been documenting Forgiato’s love affair with the C7 Corvette since the beginning when a widebody Stingray was built for the 2013 SEMA show. Over the last two years, we’ve seen about a dozen different versions of the widebody Stingray built in all kinds of colors and wheel selections.

Now that Chevy is building their own “widebody” in the form of the Corvette Z06, we wondered what Forgiato would have in store for the 650 horsepower super car. As these pictures show, we are not disappointed.

[ACCIDENT] Chrome C7 Corvette Stingray Crashes into a Gas Station

Here’s a couple of things you don’t see every day – a Chrome C7 Corvette Stingray – and a wrecked Chrome C7 Corvette Stingray that crashed into one of those round barriers by some fuel pumps at a Shell Station.

I believe we’ve actually seen this Stingray before as it has been posted on social media numerous times. It’s hard to miss a Chrome Stingray. For the driver, it was the gas station’s fuel pumps that he just missed crashing into at this gas station in Marina Del Ray, California.
