Chevrolet’s first foray into offering carbon fiber wheels came about as a result with GM’s new partnership with Carbon Revolution, an Australian manufacturer of lightweight composite wheels. The wheels arrived with the introduction of the 2023 Corvette Z06 and the partnership was further extended with those same wheels being made available for the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, Chevy’s first performance hybrid sports car.

There was a pretty big brouhaha that broke out last week following a New York Times article about GM’s OnStar being used to track the driving habits of owners, and many may have not realized that their cars were spying on them. We already knew about the black boxes in modern day cars that police may look at to determine how fast you were going prior to an accident, and we figured GM uses the data to determine whether or not to decline warranty service calls. What we didn’t think is how GM would sell-out their customers for additional revenue.

In its early years, this low-option 1969 Corvette coupe was intended for one task: to go fast.

With a 427/390 horsepower engine under the hood of this race car, that definitely wasn’t a problem.

Finally, though, the day would come when the owner decided to move on and parked the car behind a shed in 1991. There it would remain for decades until finally being pulled out recently and offered at auction on eBay.
