Celebrate 427 Day with 12% Off Sitewide at Mid America Motorworks

Are you celebrating 427 Day? Our friends at Mid America Motorworks have alerted us that today is a special day on the calendar – April 27th – that harkens us back to the mid to late 1960s with the introduction and availability of “The Rat”, Chevrolet’s iconic 427 cubic inch big block motor.

The 427 was originally known as Chevy’s “mystery motor” and it was first tested in Junior Johnson’s 1963 Daytona 500 record-setting Impala Super Sport stock car. Released for production as the Mark IV engine in mid-1965, the 427 Turbo Jet V8 was only offered from 1966 through 1969, but it’s legendary among enthusiasts for its great power and dependability. In 2006, the 427 returned, this time as the LS7 505 HP engine which powered the all-new Z06. Chevy would take that designation one step further in 2013 with the creation of the 427 Convertible special edition. So, whether it’s the old school big block V8, or the modern day potent small block, 427 is your day to celebrate Chevy Performance!
