The restoration of the National Corvette Museum’s SkyDome that was damaged last year when a sinkhole opened up inside has reached another milestone this week.
Yesterday, construction workers poured over 200 cubic yards of concrete onto the floor and then spent the rest of the day finishing that part of the project.

A photo of University of Kentucky basketball star Willie Cauley-Stein caused quite a stir yesterday for fans of the basketball team. Standing in front of a Torch Red Corvette Stingray, many in Kentucky’s Big Blue Nation took the photo to mean that Cauley-Stein will forgo a senior season at UK in favor of entering the NBA draft.

As we get closer to the Corvette Museum’s Bash event where the Corvette Team will introduce the new 2016 Corvette Stingray and Z06 models, details about some of the changes and updates are beginning to emerge. Here’s a great video from Chevrolet featuring Corvette Racing and specifically American driver Tommy Milner as the team opened the 2015 season with the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Milner is now in his 5th season with the team and is paired with Oliver Gavin in the No. 4 Corvette C7.R. The duo, along with the addition of Simon Pagenaud, earned a third place finish in the GTLM class at Daytona.
In this video, we follow Tommy from waking up and arriving at the track to a podium finish 24 hours after the start of the race. It’s a rare glimpse of what it’s like to be a driver for the Corvette Racing team and how much of a toll a 24 hour endurance race can take on a driver.

To swing open the barn doors to find an iconic Corvette that has been stored inside for years is an amazing rush to those that have experienced it. While we can’t always be there in person to watch as an old Corvette that’s covered in a layer of fine dust is pulled from the barn to outdoors, perhaps for the first time in decades, we can relive that feeling though pictures.
