We already featured one video of this mighty Corvette ZR1 from the Battle Creek Speedfest and while this one doesn’t have the impressive multi-camera angles as that original battle with the Porsche GT3, what it does have is some interesting competition in the form of a Buick Grand National.
The new and improved Corvette Homecoming and Chevy Invitational is coming to the Sloan Convention Center this Thursday-Saturday (July 14-16) in Bowling Green, KY. The show’s longtime organizer and Bowling Green native Joe Pruitt has been working hard to revamp the show to bring a new level of interest among Corvette and Chevrolet owners.
During the National Corvette Museum’s Bash this spring, we were able to witness the delivery of the 1963 Corvette from Heartland Customs to their customer Rod Halsell. This 1963 Corvette is the No. 002 SPECVETTE from the custom Corvette builder and like other Heartland builds we’ve witnessed, it’s one of the coolest restomod Corvettes you will ever see.
Without a doubt, one of the most frustrating aspects for Corvette Z06 owners who wanted to track their cars are the cooling issues that have plagued the 650-horsepower sports car from the moment it hit the streets. Despite the public embarrassments the Corvette Z06 has suffered where the car is able to run a few laps and then goes into limp mode after it gets too hot, there hasn’t been a definitive fix for the issue from General Motors.
Now, a supporting vendor named GSpeed on the Corvette Forum wants to get the bottom of these issues once and for all. GSpeed recently started a thread on the Forum to document all their testing as they work to find a solution to the C7 Z06’s cooling woes once and for all.
A 48-year-old Coral Springs, Fla., man was found dead, apparently from a gunshot wound, Monday morning in his black C5 Corvette, discovered in a McDonald’s parking lot in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Police say witnesses at the restaurant heard a gunshot around 4:30 a.m. Monday and then saw a white four-door sedan speed away from the scene.
They say that everything is done bigger in Texas and apparently that goes for their Corvette shows.
On July 23-24th, the 4th Annual Corvette Invasion will be held in two weeks at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. Come join hundreds of Corvettes for a judged car show, live music and enjoy some racing action on America’s newly famous F1 track.
