GM Delivers Corvette ZR1 to German Prince

Prince Albert von Thurn und Taxis recently took delivery of a new Corvette ZR1 in Bonstetten, Switzerland. The Prince is a descendant of one of Germany's old and wealthy noble families and is an avid race car driver who currently drives a Lamborghini in the FIA GT European Championship and the GT3 Class with Reiter Engineering. Owning a Corvette ZR1 was reportedly a "must-have" for the Prince.

Prince Albert's racing pedigree includes the current European Lamborghini Cup title, vice champion of the German ADAC GT Masters 2008 and a stint in the FIA GT European Championship behind the wheel of a Lamborghini. He also currently races with Reiter Engineering, using the German firm’s GT3-class Lamborghini Gallardo race car. Despite his racing success, we understand the car will be used for personal driving as no plans have been announced to race the American super car.

Prince Albert joins the list of race car drivers who have purchased a 2009 Corvette ZR1. Other notable race car drivers include Mario Andretti, Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon.
