Lambo Doors on the Corvette Stingray Concept!

As we learned from GM Design Chief Ed Welburn's introduction of the Corvette Stingray Concept at the Chicago Auto Show last week, there are actually two of the Corvette Stingray concepts in existence. One is the non-working styling "buck" seen on display at the Chicago auto show, the other is a running concept that appeared in the movies. Thanks to a movie set extra, we see the movie Corvette Stingray Concept comes equipped with Lambo-style doors.

Not that I'm opposed to Lambo doors on a Corvette. They are a very popular mod for the late model Corvette crowd and it's a nice surprise seeing it come from the design studio. It shows the designers are watching the aftermarket and have picked up on the supercar "status symbol" vertical door trend.

We read that the movie set extra posted this and over 100 other behind-the-scenes photos that have since been removed after a request from Paramount Pictures. Who knows what other surprises may be lurking under the hood of the Corvette Stingray Concept.
