BadBoyVettes keeps raising the bar when it comes to their video coverage of the Corvette Racing team. Back in June, they duct-taped a digital video camera to the hood of a C6.R Corvette for a lap around LeMans. Great for fans, but not so great for the camera. Then they followed up with the innovative ToeCam at Lime Rock. And for this weekend at Road America, it looks like PitCam will be debuting with a new twist: live streaming video during the race.
They tested the camera earlier in the week by mounting it to the hat being worn by crew member Dave. Dave then spent the next 30 minutes doing his prep work on the #3 Corvette. You can view that video here.
Check the BadBoyVettes.com PitCam often during the race. They have an icon at the top to let you know when the broadcast will be streaming. The four hour race beings at 4 p.m. CDT on Saturday, August 11th.
In other Road America news, Oliver Gavin was first in the GT1 class for Corvette Racing with a lap of 2:02.24 to edge out Jan Magnussen in the #3 Corvette C6.R by more than a second. Third in class was the Doran Racing Maserati MC12 of Didier Theys and Fredy Lienhard at 2:04.499.
