You know it, we know it and now the readers of AskMen.com know it. When putting together their list of the Top 10 American Inventions, the first uniquely American Sports Car made the cut. The Top 10 list is made up of what the editors call American inventions that impacted the culture so much so that they've become synonymous with the character of the nation. I'll buy into that premise. Besides, where else could I combine three of my favorite all-American inventions: The Corvette (#10), Bourbon Whiskey (#9) and the Colt .45 (#8). Whoo Hoo!!!

About the inclusion of the Corvette at number 10, AskMen.com says:

The Corvette found a place in pop music when Prince released "Little Red Corvette" in 1983, and in 2001 Chevrolet responded, sort of. Specifically, they featured a red 1963 Corvette Sting Ray on a number of billboards with the caption, They don’t write songs about Volvos.
