Another C6 Corvette Dead Battery Entrapment leads to Hilarious Video

I’m not sure if there is something in the water or if the moon is out of alignment, but there seems to be a recent rash of people getting trapped in Corvettes whose battery has died. We already told you of the one of guy who called 911 after getting locked in his Corvette ZR1, but here is another frustrated gentleman whose calls for help to his friends result in this hilarious video being posted on youtube.

GM to Invest $131 Million in Bowling Green Assembly Plant

GM North American President Mark Reuss brought some very good news to state and local community leaders in Bowling Green as well as for the 500 employees of the Corvette Assembly Plant and Corvette lovers everywhere. General Motors will be investing $131 million in the plant for upgrading tooling and machinery and will create as many as 250 new jobs in advance of producing the up-coming C7 Corvette.

At the Corvette Museum’s C5/C6 Bash, we talked with Corvette Assembly Plant Manager Dave Tatman. Dave came to Bowling Green last August and calls his assignment a “dream job”. We spoke about the shortage of the metallic paint pigment Xirallic and if that will effect production of the Centennial’s Carbon Flash paint, the investment in the plant by GM (being announced today btw), and the people who build the greatest sports car in the world.

One of the major highlights of the Corvette Museum’s C5/C6 Bash is the Corvette Team walking us through the changes and new updates for the upcoming model year. On Saturday morning of the Bash, it was standing room only in the Chevrolet Theater as Corvette Team members Harlan Charles, Tadge Juechter, Craig Sass and Kirk Bennion participated in the “What’s New for 2012″ slide show. Each member of the team took their turn on the microphone to go over their specific area of concentration.

[VIDEO] Dragstrip Shootout: 1973 Corvette Stingray vs Corvette Z06

It’s new versus old in this video of an Atomic Orange C6 Corvette Z06 racing a 1973 Corvette Coupe down the strip. Obviously modified, the C3 Corvette gets the slightest of jumps on the Z06 at the start but that 505-horsepower LS7 kicks in and it’s neck and neck down the straightaway. Who wins is anyone’s guess. When Fast Five opens in theaters later this month, fans of the Fast & Furious franchise will be treated to another round of beautiful cars doing some of the most outrageous stunts conceived. One of the hero cars used in the opening sequence is a 1963 Corvette Grand Sport replica that we first caught a glimpse of in the trailer that aired during this year’s Super Bowl. [VIDEO] Hennessey ZR750 Gives Boost to Corvette ZR1

Texas tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering is known for their performance packages that substantially increase the power of GM and other American-built cars and trucks. Right after the initial introduction of the Corvette ZR1, HPE came out with their ZR700 package which boosted the ZR1′s horsepower to 705. Hennessey also offers the ZR750 package which brings the power on tap to 755-ponies, a ground-pounding 728 pounds-feet of torque and a top speed in excess of 224 mph!
