Here is a video that will make you feel good about owning a Corvette. This modified supercharged Z06 with 700 horsepower lines up against Sweden’s Koenigsegg CCXR with just over 1,000 horsepower for a 1-mile drag race. Both cars seemingy get off to a slow start thanks to a bunch a wheel spin, but the Z06 finds traction first, jumps out in the lead and never looks back.

Tommy Milner joined Doug Fehan and Dan Binks for a luncheon with the Corvette Racing team at the National Corvette Museum’s C5/C6 Bash. In this video, driver Tommy Milner talks about his experiences so far in his inaugural year in the C6.R as well as giving the enthusiasts in the crowd some highlights of his brief but highly successful racing career.
KMBC in Kansas City had this report about a Corvette that crashed into a house. The Corvette’s driver apparently was running from a routine police stop. After turning onto a small back road off Highway 150, the driver lost control and hit a tree which launched the Corvette airborne. Police found the wrecked Corvette on the front porch of a home.

Ontario-based professional photographer Rob Smith had the opportunity to shoot this black Corvette ZR1 in a variety of settings. We happened upon them on the Forum and just loved the feel and emotion radiating from the 638 hp supercharged supercar parked in this urban setting. Judging from the multitude of comments, I am not alone.
According to a post on the Corvette Forum, Late Model Racecraft now holds the record for the fastest corvette in the standing mile which they set Saturday at the Texas Mile. Their twin turbo C6 Corvette hit 231 mph despite a 31 mph head wind. Check out what 231 mph in a Corvette looks like after the jump.
Les Stanford Chevrolet of Dearborn, MI posted these photos Wednesday on the Corvette Forum which show a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport painted in Carlisle Blue. Having seen just the bumper cover at the Bash, I wondered how it would look on a full car. Since the introduction of the Corvette ZR1 in 2009, carbon ceramic brakes have been available on production Corvettes. General Motors turned to Brembo to provide the brakes for the top of the line Corvette ZR1 and after the jump, you’ll see how they are made courtesy of the Science Channel.

Here’s a 1965 Corvette that’s number 1 in our book. Actually, it’s the very first 1965 Corvette, VIN 194375S100001 and it crossed the auction block Wednesday evening at Mecum’s Spring Classic in Indianapolis. The Silver Pearl Coupe with the 327/365 hp engine was sold for $66,000 to Bidder #1 – Terry Michaelis of Proteam Corvette.
