Last week we ran an image from Getty that showed Shane Steelman’s red Corvette Z06 surrounded by the destruction from the tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma on Monday, May 20th. Shane saw the picture on our Facebook page and provided even more photos and video. Here is his account of what happened before, during and after the storm as well as the fate of his beloved C5 Z06.

The Motorsports Park near the National Corvette Museum continues to roar closer and closer to reality every day.
Crews hope to be done in 45 days as they began clearing the 184 acres of land last week for the track, which will be located off Porter Pike across from the museum on the opposite side of I-65.
The clearing hopefully is just a prelude to the official groundbreaking as early as next month, museum Executive Director Wendell Strode told The Bowling Green Daily News.
Chevy has a great new video posted on YouTube that offers us a first-hand look at how a blogger from DadCentric.com makes so much progress behind the wheel of a Corvette Z06 thanks to the skills he learns at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School.
The day at Spring Mountain Resorts, located about an hour west of Las Vegas, gave Greg Barbera the chance to fulfill a lifelong fantasy to learn how to drive a racecar.
On the Saturday seminar at April 2013′s National Corvette Museum Bash, we got an update on all the happenings over at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant where the Chevrolet Corvette is built. Plant Manager Dave Tatman talks about closing out the C6 Corvette and preparing and building the C7 Corvette Stingray. He also talks about moving the Performance Build Center from Wixxom, MI to the BGAP.
Like we haven’t seen this happen before. Corvette driver decides to show off while leaving a car gathering and all hell brakes loose.
At least we know the windshield wipers work.
One of the most popular seminars at Corvette Museum’s Bash is the one featuring members of the factory-backed Corvette Racing Team. This year the seminar featured Corvette Racing’s Program Manager Doug Fehan, driver of the #4 Corvette C6.R Tommy Milner and the #3 Corvette C6.Rs Crew Chief Dan Binks.
The trio talk about the ins and outs of the current season which started with a win at Sebring and then a 4th and 5th place finish at Long Beach. Doug talks for just a few minutes and then the team then takes questions from the audience.
One of the most remarkable transformations that Chevrolet has made with the new Corvette is the completely redesigned interior. Premium materials and lots of technology will surely quiet the detractors from previous models. Here is the interior design seminar held by Ryan Vaughan and Lucy Lahood at the 2013 National Corvette Museum’s Bash in Bowling Green, KY.
