Another classic Corvette from the John Justo collection was this Black 1962 Corvette roadster that crossed Mecum’s Kissimmee auction block on Friday, January 25th. Highly optioned and a multiple award winner, the last year C1 Corvette sold for $242,000.

Well, a new TV show called Strippers: Cars for Cash on the UK’s National Geographic Channel takes a very different approach to that formula.

One of the most iconic Corvette designs of all time is the 1963 Split Window Corvette Coupe. 1963 was the first year for a fixed roof coupe for Corvette and it was also the only year that the rear window was separated into two. It is sought after by collectors everywhere and always generates a crowd when a special one is available for sale.
And when we say special, its no wonder that collector John Justo had this ’63 Split Window as the crown jewel in his collection. An unrestored original with a mere 5,500 miles on the odometer, its also the winner of the most prestigious awards in the Corvette hobby.

We saw this 30 second commercial last week just hours after Chevrolet uploaded it to their YouTube channel and it had garnered 300 views. If you follow us on social media, you would know that we tweeted and posted the video to our Facebook page. In nearly one week, the video has been watched over 2.6 million times. That’s an amazing amount of views that shows the interest and excitement in the new Corvette.
We were really hoping that its arrival on Thursday afternoon would mean that it was scheduled to air sometime during Sunday’s Super Bowl broadcast, but alas, that was not to be. And that’s a shame because showing a Corvette commercial during the Super Bowl would have conveyed a “new seriousness” from GM about how it markets its halo car.

While in Detroit for the 1.13.13 reveal and the North American International Auto Show, we talked with Craig Sass who was the Interior Design Manager on the C7 Corvette. Craig and his team were responsible for totally redesigning the interior of the Stingray. To say they were challenged in this task would be an understatement based on the constant criticism of the C6 Corvette’s interior. But now that the 2014 Corvette Stingray has been revealed, the interior design team has earned high praise and respect for taking the interior space of the Stingray to a whole new level.

Remember those teaser videos GM put out in advance of the 1.13.13 reveal? Chevy has released a new Corvette Stingray video on youtube and if you were paying attention, you would have seen some of that video was used in the first video teaser called CONCEPTION which dealt with the exterior design and aerodynamics testing. Now you can see the entire video which indeed shows the C7 Corvette Stingray.

We first told you about this highly decorated 1969 L88 convertible back in August 2012 when it was about to cross Mecum’s Anaheim auction block. There it was bid to $550,000 and did not sell. Last week it traversed Gooding and Co’s Scottsdale auction stage and hammered sold for $750,000. Throw in the 10% buyer’s fee and the new owner wrote a check for $825,000 to take this baby home.

On a recent installment of his Jay Leno’s Garage, the words “amazing” and “exciting” and “beautiful” are heard frequently as he and designer Ed Welburn do a walk-around inside and outside the car at Brown’s Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Check out this video of the three 2014 Corvette Stingrays testing in Arizona. You can hear an exclamation followed by a few expletives from the driver when he first views the Stingrays and then he follows them into a parking lot and strikes up a conversation with the drivers.

One of the things you will notice when sitting inside the new 2014 Corvette Stingray are the two eight-inch high definition screens. The screen on the center stack is for displaying the advanced infotainment system that is called Chevy MyLink, plus it shows enhanced OnStar with 3D navigation maps. But for many, the coolness factor is enhanced by what is behind that screen.
