Corvette Racing’s Oliver Gavin was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed following his return home to England after the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With him was the No.64 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R which would run the famous Goodwood hill climb.
As Oliver got the wave to go, he delighted the crowd with the sound of that 5.5L V8 revving up and then leaving a massive burnout as he started his run:

One of the highlights for residents of Le Mans is the scrutineering process that happens in the middle of town. For the uninitiated, scrutineering is the inspection process that each racecar must undergo prior to the start of race week for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
One after another, each racecar is transported downtown and they are inspected by the ACO to insure they meet the standards for their class. It’s not just the cars that undergo inspection as crew members and drivers must show their safety equipment as well.
Following scrutineering, the race teams have their official team photos taken in the town square.

It was great news that Cadillac Racing driver and Corvette Hall of Fame member Johnny O’Connell would be making a return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
O’Connell has always been one of our all-time Corvette Racing drivers, not only for his driving abilities, but also his engaging personality and his ability to connect with fans.

For this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, Corvette Racing has once again turned to Wayne Taylor Racing to help fill its driver rosters. As was reported late last year, Jordan Taylor and his brother Ricky will join the factory Corvette squad as the third drivers for the French endurance classic.
