It’s the last Friday in September which means it’s “Black Friday” here at CorvetteBlogger.com. Here’s our salute to Black Corvettes with a random photo gallery made up of 32 Corvettes spanning seven generations.
Jay Leno takes us out of his garage and out into the world for a field trip to what he calls the “Super Bowl for car enthusiasts” in Pebble Beach, Calif., where he says you can see some of the best cars ever built.
He calls this 42-minute show “The Ultimate Car Week.”
Of most interest to Corvette enthusiasts is likely to be a segment devoted to the 2015 Corvette Z06. You might want to fast forward to about the 9:50 mark to see this.
Here’s a short “Now & Then” documentary by Graeme Jenvey that’ll definitely put a smile on a Corvette enthusiast’s face.
In the six-and-a-half minute video, a long-time Corvette lover named Joe Gallo shares his thoughts about his 1965 Corvette Sting Ray, then contrasts it with a 2014 Stingray.
We’ve heard of “dynamite” Corvettes exploding off the line at a drag strip.
But a suspect bank robber in Stanton, Calif., added a new twist to that scenario Monday morning.
The 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with a robbery at Bank of the West on Beach Boulevard in Stanton after a traffic stop at Katella and Western avenues.
That’s where it gets interesting.
With C7 Corvette Z06 production slated to begin sometime in 4th Quarter, we’ve been wondering where all the spy photos of the new supercar are. Like the Corvette Stingray, we know that Chevy has been doing extensive testing and will be making changes to the car right up until the time the first retail Corvette Z06 heads down the production line.
So it’s lucky for us that TheFastLaneCar.com’s Roman and Nathan got a tip that a group of Corvettes were doing some high-altitude testing in the high-country of Colorado so the duo jumped at the opportunity to track them down and see what’s going on.
We know we’re guilty of sharing the occasional street racing video and its almost like a guilty pleasure of ours to hear those Corvettes revving up and driving hard after three beeps. We know its wrong, like checking out the latest leaked celebrity nude photos. It’s not like we go searching for them. They just seem to find us. But I digress…
Not every street race ends safely and it can be an educational experience to share the what happens when street racing goes bad story. To that end, we bring you this video that shows what can go wrong and how fast that wrong can come if you decide to street race your Corvette.
This street race starts out the same as most others do. Two high powered vehicles pace each other ready to have themselves a little speed contest. What’s different about this situation comes after both drivers mash the gas. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 immediately breaks traction as the rear wheels spin free.
