We can understand if you are moving a little slower today as it’s the beginning of the work week. So here’s some motivation in the form of our weekly image gallery featuring 1963 to 1967 Corvettes that we affectionately refer to as Midyear Monday.
Videos & Pictures
If you’ve never driven or ridden in a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, this 45-second video is the next best thing.
Just be sure you have some Dramamine handy in case the constant twists and turns have an effect on you.
We knew that once Corvettes were armed with the Performance Data Recorder that YouTube would never be the same. Already we are starting to see PDR videos online and they aren’t just videos that captured on-track driving. Corvette owners are using the PDR as dash cams and it’s only a matter of time before a PDR captures a “dashcam moment” like we see coming out of Russia every day.
One Corvette Forum member had his PDR activated as he was driving on a toll road in Fort Worth, TX when a semi tractor-trailer had a tire blowout in front of him.
Ever since getting out football, Brett Favre has let himself go. The former NFL quarterback grew out his beard and his hair got a little shaggy. But now we see that Favre has a new endorsement deal for the MicroTouch Personal Groomer and the little shaver with the LED light finally gets his appearance back under control.
In fact, Brett looks so good by the end of the commercial, he’s taking his wife Deanna out on the town in a Crystal Red Metallic Corvette Stingray Coupe!
Chevy released the amazing 0-60 time of 2.95 seconds for the 2015 Corvette Z06, the fastest time ever for a GM production car.
Equally as amazing is how quickly the Z06 can go from 60 to 0 mph – in 99.6 feet with the Z07 package!
Brembo is the brains behind that stellar performance, and the company recently released a neat video explaining how its carbon ceramic brake system does the trick.
Part of our responsibilities when covering Mid America Motorwork’s 2014 Corvette FunFest is the selection of a Corvette for our celebrity choice award. As we wandered Corvette FunFest’s back parking lot looking for the appropriate Corvette, we realized our work would be cut out for us. So many great Corvettes. So many great stories.
That’s when I spotted Mike McGuirk and his son Mike sitting behind a Honduras Maroon 1962 Corvette.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray has been a popular choice for moviemakers.
In this 6-minute, 22-second flick on YouTube called “Stingray the Movie,” produced by Raj Patel and directed by Joe Clarke, we see two men recruited to do a getaway job for a local kingpin who’s described as “a bit of a whack job…bit of a temper.”
I might of went a little overboard as I was putting together this week’s award-winning image gallery featuring 1963-67 Corvettes, but I kept finding great pictures of second generation Corvettes to share. So for this week, we’ll have a slightly expanded Midyear Monday photo gallery to start off the week.
While the initial photo shows a Laguna Blue Z06 Corvette and the graphic says “Corvette Z06″, the video actually is of a Corvette Stingray Z51 Coupe. Take a look at the rear spoiler which seems to have a clear “wicker-bill” like attachment that runs across the center top.
The sighting of the Corvette Stingray at the Nurburgring comes after the news of the 2015 Corvette Z06 testing (and crashing!) at the famous track.
