The title on the Dallas Craigslist ad simply reads “1999 Chevrolet Corvette Yellow 8 Cylinder Automatic Coupe – $104,900”. Savvy internet searchers will immediately notice the $105k price tag and wonder what kind of C5 can merit such a lofty sum. Well, this one can as it’s one of the 19 Callaway C12’s built in 1999. At the 1954 Motorama, GM unleashed three Corvette-based concept cars onto the show circuit. Dubbed the Convertible Coupe, the Corvair, and the Nomad, the trio caused a stir when they debuted in New York in January of 1954. As we all know, the Nomad made it to production a couple years later, but in a non-Corvette form. West Coast Customs' VETT.I.AM Custom Corvette Project

West Coast Customs kicked off season two of their show on the new Velocity network with a project built around a custom 1958 Corvette for the Black Eye Peas’ Will.I.Am. [VIDEO] Watch the Morrison 3G 1960 Corvette in action at Spring Mountain

At the SEMA show in 2006, Art Morrison’s project 3G Corvette won the “Gran Turismo Award” which also meant that it would be featured in the Playstation video game “Gran Turismo”. This is a big weekend for car auctions as most of the major auction houses are descending on Monterey, California for a weekend full of classic and collector car sales. Although fairly new to the Monterey scene, Mecum Auctions has a full slate of cars ready to be sold during their Monterey Daytime Auction which kicks off on Thursday and runs through Saturday. On the Mecum sales docket are 42 Corvettes that are ready for new homes and several of these Vettes are worthy of a closer look.

It was back in May we first learned about the Endora SC-1, a new German custom coach that will be powered by America’s finest V8 Small block engines. Sure we’ve seen custom supercars built on the Corvette chassis before. The Bertone Mantide and Rossi 66 are two of our favorites. Corvette Gets a Chrome Wrap by Czech Tuner

Tintek is a company out of the Czech Republic that has developed a real skill in the vinyl wrapping of sports cars. And while the latest trend in vinyl wrapping seems to be matte colors, Tintek goes the complete opposite with their fleet of sports cars wrapped in chrome. After dressing up a Chevy Camaro SS and an Audi TT, the company released photos of their latest creation, a chromed C6 Corvette Coupe with verticle doors.

[VIDEO] LMR Tests Their Texas Mile Twin Turbo Corvette in GM's Wind Tunnel

Back in May, Late Model Racecraft’s twin-turbo Corvette set the standing mile record at the Texas Mile with a run of 231 mph. The team obviously feels they can get more out of their Corvette so they took the car up to Detroit where it was put in GM’s famous wind tunnel for aero testing.
