Racing

Via CorvetteVideos.TV

Normally these cars are considered much too valuable to be doing what they were meant for. So it’s nice to see an L88 ruling the strip like they once did.

Here’s an old school 1/4 mile drag race between an ultra rare 1969 L88 Corvette which was powered by a 430 Horsepower 427 solid lifter big block and a 1972 Oldsmobile 442 powered by the factory blue-printed W30 455 rated at 300 horsepower in 1972. The L88 Corvette is 1 of only 116 produced in 1969. The 442 W30 is also rare as it is 1 of only 772 built.

Corvettes on eBay: 1957 Chevrolet Engineering Fuelie Corvette for $6.5 Million

The headline is not a typo or a joke — a price for anything that includes seven digits is a serious matter and especially so for a car that hasn’t been started since 1967. Our friends at roadtrippers.com noticed this ad on eBay and understandably wondered if the ad and the car were legitimate. Certainly it’s not every day that you see a price that high on eBay, but it’s not even close to the highest eBay sale on record—that belongs to a Frank Mulders designed, 405-foot yacht that sold for $168,000,000 in 2006.

Wild 1998 Corvette Runs 200 mph at the Mojave Mile

When Joel Feingold climbs behind the wheel of his 1998 Corvette, which he bought new in January 1998, it’s definitely not your typical C5.

Joel started his mods simply enough. Not satisfied with the stock exhaust sound, he added a Borla exhaust.

Then he added a cold air intake, headers, and an engine tune to get more power, but he still wasn’t done, not by a long shot.

This video shows Joel, who loves competing in standing start one-mile runs, during three runs in the Mojave Mile sponsored by MKM Racing at the Mojave airport’s 2.2 mile, 200-foot-wide runway.
