[VIDEO] Mom Gets Taken For a Ride Around Laguna Seca in a Corvette Z06

I love these kinds of videos that show hapless passengers hanging on for dear life as they are taken for a ride around a race track. But for some reason, it’s even more fun when that passenger is your own mother. One driver named Darius not only takes his mom for some hot laps around Laguna Seca in a Corvette Z06, he makes sure a camera captures the whole experience.

Both Corvettes were damaged and by the time repairs were completed, both cars were out of contention and 15-20 laps off the leader.

Corvette Racing Back in the USA for Lime Rock Round

Le Mans-Winning Team Sets Its Sights on American Le Mans Series Titles in Seven-Race Summer Stretch

LAKEVILLE, Conn., July 6, 2011 – What happens in Le Mans stays in Le Mans. That’s because Saturday’s American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park is something completely different from the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Corvette Racing returns to the American Le Mans Series after capturing its seventh class victory in France on June 12. The differences between Le Mans and Lime Rock are stark. The former is an 8.5-mile circuit in the French countryside; the latter is a 1.5-mile bullring around a former gravel quarry. Lap times in Le Mans are nearly four minutes long; the laps click off at Lime Rock in under 60 seconds. Instead of 24 hours and two dozen pit stops, the third round of the ALMS will be a quick two-hour, 45-minute sprint with a pair of scheduled stops.

1969 BFG Stars & Stripes Corvette Racer Headed to RM's Monterey Auction

Three BFG Corvettes, wearing numbers 48, 49 and 50, were built for the campaign in FIA-sanctioned races including Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring. Featuring ZL-1 racing engines and the patriotic stars & stripes livery, the BFG Corvettes were an instant hit with the fans as Greenwood’s Corvettes were the loudest and proudest at the track. One of the BFG Corvettes, the #49 car, will be one of the featured cars for sale at RM Auction’s Monterey event in mid-August.
