Here is a video that will make you feel good about owning a Corvette. This modified supercharged Z06 with 700 horsepower lines up against Sweden’s Koenigsegg CCXR with just over 1,000 horsepower for a 1-mile drag race. Both cars seemingy get off to a slow start thanks to a bunch a wheel spin, but the Z06 finds traction first, jumps out in the lead and never looks back.
The Corvette Racing trucks arrived in France where it delivered its cargo containing race cars and supporting parts and tools in advance of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Most of the crew and the engineers will be on site as we write this with the drivers arriving from various locations over the weekend. The busy week kicks off officially on Monday where the two C6.Rs wearing numbers #73 and #74 will undergo Scrutineering in the afternoon before posing for the traditional team picture on the pit straight.
Tommy Milner joined Doug Fehan and Dan Binks for a luncheon with the Corvette Racing team at the National Corvette Museum’s C5/C6 Bash. In this video, driver Tommy Milner talks about his experiences so far in his inaugural year in the C6.R as well as giving the enthusiasts in the crowd some highlights of his brief but highly successful racing career.
No longer just the “Mayor of Mosport”, racing legend and former driver for the Corvette Racing team Ron Fellows is now the proud owner of his home track just outside Toronto, Canada. Fellows and his partners Alan Boughton and real-estate developer Carlo Fidani have purchased Mosport International Raceway from the Panoz Motor Sport Group. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
According to a post on the Corvette Forum, Late Model Racecraft now holds the record for the fastest corvette in the standing mile which they set Saturday at the Texas Mile. A Look Back at Corvette Racing’s Breakthrough Win in 2001
You never forget your first – especially when it’s the first win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Today Corvette Racing is recognized around the world as a powerhouse in international endurance racing, but a decade ago, the members of Chevrolet’s factory sports car team were innocents abroad.
The Pirelli World Challenge held rounds five and six at Mosport International Raceway over the weekend and Mike Skeen of Charlotte, North Carolina would come away with back to back wins in the GT Class with his yellow No. 2 CRP Racing/Cragar Wheels Chevrolet Corvette. Former Corvette Racing driver Johnny O’Connell also earned back to back podium finishes in his Pratt & Miller prepped Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.
Here is a comparison video from Japan’s Best Motoring TV show that puts the Lexus LFA against the Nissan GT-R, Corvette ZR1, Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the Ferrari F430 GT3 for a 3-lap attack at Fuji Speedway.
The comparison is epic proof of why we don’t put too much stock into comparisons as this was all about the drivers and their lack of familiarity with any car that wasn’t Japanese. The Corvette driver seemed particularly tentative in the corners and really failed to utilize one of the ZR1′s core strengths: brakes. Despite that minor observation, it’s always fun to see these epic sports cars battling on a track. You have to watch the video to find out how it ends.

Corvette Racing’s four full-season American Le Mans Series drivers – Oliver Gavin, Jan Magnussen, Olivier Beretta and Tommy Milner – used one of the team’s European customer cars to collect valuable data for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 11-12.
