Since its inauguration in 1911, Chevrolet has been a staple on the racetrack, having competed in every major contest over the past century. The Corvette Z06 Ron Fellows ‘Hall of Fame’ Tribute was one of two Corvette concepts that General Motors brought with them to SEMA this year. The Red and White Corvette was the featured display at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch / Ron Fellows Driving School booth in the adjoining hall. We took many photos of the tribute car and we also have a video of Ron Fellows showing off his personalized special edition Corvette Z06 at Chevrolet’s introduction event held last Monday.
Corvettes were in plentiful supply at SEMA and we made an attempt to photograph each and every one we could find. That meant walking every aisle and outdoor space at the show. But we sacrificed for you our readers because you deserve no less. And so after the jump, we present the Corvettes of SEMA.
You know we love Corvette Racing here on CorvetteBlogger and whenever we see a tribute to the yellow and black C6.Rs, we have to stop and take a closer look. MTI knows a thing or two about upgrading Corvettes for the track and this walk around shows how to turn your Corvette into a track weapon (I really like that phrase!).
While we were at Road Atlanta for the 14th Annual Petit Le Mans, we had the unique opportunity to talk with one of the most legendary names in racing, Bob Bondurant. Our conversation ranges from Bob’s racing exploits to what new Corvette ZR1 owners learn at his high performance driving school.
Corvette Racing driver Tommy Milner once again takes up behind the wheel to give us the driver’s perspective of lapping the 2.54 mile circuit at Road Atlanta in the dark during the Thursday night practice session.
