Last weekend’s 12 Hours of Sebring proved once again that anything can happen as the deciding moments came down to the final laps. Now that everyone has had a chance to post their race recaps as well as upload their photos and videos, we bring to you our final Sebring news roundup.
The National Corvette Museum’s plans for a motorsports park remain on track for a proposed 2014 opening after the Warren County Fiscal Court on March 21 unanimously approved the first reading of a rezoning ordinance.
The museum must have the 405 acres of land changed from agriculture to planned unit development zoning for the facility to be built.
What a weekend it was for Corvette!
Not only did the Corvette Racing team finish second and third in the GT class in Sunday’s Twelve Hours of Sebring competition, but Corvette capped that success by being inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame.
And who can argue with the choice?
When we first published the photo gallery of Corvettes that were in attendance at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in Northeast Florida, the first two pictures we shared were of the #94 Leldon Blackwell Corvette Racer. Since then, we’ve come across some additional information on the former Sebring race car as well as a video showing the Corvette being prepped by renowned restorer Kevin Mackay of Corvette Repair Inc.

The timing of Corvette’s induction is fitting, as Chevrolet celebrates 60 years of Corvette production in 2012 and Sebring stages the milestone 60th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on Saturday, March 17.
