Hard-charging effort pays off with another podium finish
LAKEVILLE, Conn. (July 6, 2013) – Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen stood on the podium at Lime Rock Park for the second straight season with a runner-up finish Saturday in the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix. The No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R ran a nearly flawless race to lead Corvette Racing’s effort in the fourth round of the American Le Mans Series.
Each year at Bloomington Gold there are several special groupings of Corvettes on display. This year we were especially looking forward to seeing the 2014 Corvette Stingray Pace Car from this year’s Indianapolis 500. Little did we know that the Pace Car Registry was assembling a collection of 1 example of every Corvette Pace Car that’s led the field at Indy.
A week after it made its debut at the Indy 500, the Laguna Blue 2014 Corvette Stingray served pace car duties at the IndyCar/GRAND-AM races on Detroit’s Belle Isle. During the week leading up to the race, SPEED filmed a segment with GRAND-AM driver Eric Curran, who drove the 2014 Corvette Stingray and gave his impressions about the new sports car.

(July 2, 2013) – Two weeks after both its Compuware Corvette C6.R race cars completed the Le Mans 24 Hours, Corvette Racing returns stateside to continue defense of its GT driver, team and manufacturer championships in the American Le Mans Series. Next up is scenic Lime Rock Park and the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix on Saturday, July 6.
The dream of a National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park is roaring closer and closer to reality with each passing day.
Corvette enthusiasts and community and state leaders gathered Friday, June 28th in Bowling Green, Kentucky for a groundbreaking ceremony for the $20 million, 184-acre, dual-track park located just across from the museum off I-65.
The one-of-a-kind 2011 “Jake Edition” Corvette Grand Sport built for the 2010 SEMA show will be auctioned on Friday afternoon at the National Corvette Museum with proceeds going to the new NCM Motorsports Park. Tickets are just $20 and there are no limits on how many tickets will be sold.
Fourth, seventh place in final Le Mans for C6.R with new car looming for 2014
LE MANS, France (June 23, 2013) – Corvette Racing and its two Compuware Corvette C6.Rs completed the most demanding auto race in the world today by finishing in the top seven of the GTE Pro class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen and Jordan Taylor brought home the No. 73 Compuware Corvette in fourth place after starting seventh. It was a remarkable comeback that saw the trio pick up three spots in the final six hours. The No. 74 Compuware Corvette finished seventh with Oliver Gavin, Jan Magnussen and Richard Westbrook driving.
