American Le Mans Series Returns to Series’ Shortest Track for Rough-and-Tumble Fourth Round
LAKEVILLE, Conn. – With the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the rearview mirror, Corvette Racing is now driving for the American Le Mans Series GT championship. The series’ fourth round, the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix, will be contested on Saturday, July 7, in the tight confines of Lime Rock Park. This 1.5-mile circuit in the Connecticut countryside is road racing’s equivalent of a short-track bullring – albeit with more ups and downs than the stock market.
It was Corvette against Corvette for the title in the closing seconds of the Rolex Sports Car Series at Watkins Glen International on Sunday.
Joao Barbosa, in the No. 9 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, rallied to take a narrow victory in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, nipping Alex Gurney and the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Corvette DP.

For the second year in a row, the French Larbre Competition team has sent a Corvette to the winner’s circle in the GTE-AM division at the 80th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France.
But it wasn’t easy to repeat.
The No. 50 Larbre Corvette C6R had to battle throughout the race with the No. 67 IMSA Matmut Porsche RSR, trailing by about 12 seconds with less than 20 minutes left.
Corvettes Overcome Adversity to Take Checkered Flag in GTE Pro
LE MANS, France, June 17, 2012 – Corvette Racing finished the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans for the 12th time in 13 attempts as both the No. 73 and No. 74 Compuware Corvette C6.R race cars were running at the finish of the world’s most demanding sports car race.
