Corvette Team Revs Up for Petit Le Mans Endurance Race

Braselton, Ga., Sept. 29, 2010 – A two-day test at the roller-coaster Road Atlanta circuit has prepared Corvette Racing for Saturday’s 1,000-mile/10-hour Petit Le Mans, the ninth and final round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series. After seven victories at Petit Le Mans in the GTS/GT1 division, Corvette Racing is aiming to close out the 2010 campaign with its first GT2 win of the season.

We’ve always said that Corvette Racing has the best fans in the American Le Mans Series. Now its time to prove it. Stop what you’re doing right now and go vote for one of the two C6.R drivers on the Most Popular Drivers ballot: Johnny O’Connell or Jan Magnussen. Remember, you can vote every 5 hours.

All right Corvette Racing fans. Give yourself a big pat on the back as it looks like Doug Fehan got the most votes for the “From the Fans” awards. Now we turn our attention to the favorite driver award and both Johnny O’Connell and Jan Magnussen made the final round. The last time O’Connell made it to the finals, he lost by just three votes. Corvettes Finish Fourth and Fifth in Abbreviated Mosport ALMS

Red Flag Stymies Corvette Comeback in Canada

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada, Aug. 29, 2010 – After an eventful two hours and 15 minutes of racing at Mosport International Raceway, a red flag brought the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport to a premature end. When the guardrail lining the high-speed Andretti Straightaway was severely damaged in an accident, officials stopped the race with 30 minutes remaining on the clock. After efforts to repair the guardrail proved futile, the race was subsequently restarted for a ceremonial final lap under caution. The No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R of Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen was fourth across the finish line in the GT class, followed by the No. 3 Corvette driven by Johnny O’Connell and Olivier Beretta.
